Here’s what a day in the life of a SPAR baker looks like:

Mix, prepare, and bake all kinds of delicious bread and confectionery items
Measure and manage ingredients properly, keeping them fresh and sealed in hygienic containers
Keep the bakery area spotless, organized, and safe
Manage production levels to make sure the store never runs out of freshly baked goods
Follow recipes accurately to maintain consistency and top quality
Work with a team, giving direction where needed, and making sure everyone meets their goals
Make sure customer orders are completed on time and exactly to spec
Understand how to apply cost-effective baking techniques without compromising on quality

✅ What You’ll Need to Apply

You don’t need to be a master baker to apply, but there are a few basic requirements:

Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
Able to speak and understand English
Must live within 15km of the store
A clear criminal record

⭐ Bonus Points (Preferred But Not Required)

Past experience as a Baker, Bakery Assistant, or Bakery Supervisor
Aged between 18 and 45
Able to handle bakery tools and ovens with care
Passion for baking and strong attention to detail

⏱ Working Hours & Schedule

Shifts, which may include weekends and early mornings
Must be flexible and willing to work on weekends
