What the Job Involves

Delivering a Total Guest Experience

Your main responsibility will be making sure guests enjoy their visit. This includes:

  • Providing friendly, professional, and attentive service.
  • Knowing the menu well, including ingredients, food preparation methods, and possible allergens.
  • Making confident menu recommendations.
  • Helping solve any problems or complaints quickly to keep guests happy.

Guests come to the restaurant expecting great food and great service. Your job is to make sure they leave satisfied and wanting to return.

Being a Strong Brand Ambassador

As a Waiter, you represent the restaurant brand at all times. This means:

  • Maintaining a neat and professional appearance.
  • Showing strong values such as respect, hospitality, and reliability.
  • Delivering service that reflects the high standards of the restaurant.

Your behaviour, tone, and attitude help shape how guests see the brand. A friendly smile, careful listening, and respectful service go a long way in building trust with guests.

Driving Sales Through Upselling

Part of your role is to help increase sales. You will learn how to:

  • Recommend popular dishes, specials, and beverages.
  • Upsell without being pushy, giving guests options they may enjoy.
  • Take accurate orders and double-check them before sending them to the kitchen.

Good upselling improves the dining experience for guests and helps the restaurant grow.

Supporting Campaigns and Promotions

The restaurant often runs special events or promotions. As a Waiter, you will help:

  • Execute campaigns as instructed by Floor Managers.
  • Share updates with guests, such as weekly specials or limited-time offers.
  • Give managers feedback on how the promotions are performing.

Your participation helps the team understand what works and what can be improved.

Teamwork and a Positive Work Environment

Restaurants succeed when the whole team works together. Your role includes:

Opening and Closing Duties

Your shift may include:

  • Helping set up the restaurant before service.

Shift Handovers and Clear Communication

When your shift ends, you must:

Mise en Place and Daily Preparation

Every Waiter must prepare their station before service. This includes:

What You Need to Qualify
