Job Role: Plant Assistant
This Plant Assistant role involves various technical and safety responsibilities to keep operations running smoothly. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Key Responsibilities
As a Plant Assistant, you’ll be involved in both operational and maintenance tasks, such as:
- Tank Dipping & Temperature Checks: Carefully measuring tank levels and temperatures for accurate records.
- Loading and Offloading Operations: Helping with the safe transfer of products from tank cars and bulk vehicles.
- Tank & Valve Preparation: Supporting preparation activities to receive new products.
- Housekeeping & Safety Standards: Ensuring the facility remains clean and safe for all workers.
- Visitor Services: Managing services for visitors, customers, and contractors in coordination with administrative tasks.
- Minor Maintenance Tasks: Handling minor equipment fixes under the guidance of supervisors.
Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ) Responsibilities
Your role is essential to promoting a safe workplace. Here’s how you’ll contribute:
- Follow Safety Protocols: Strictly adhere to all HSE rules and regulations.
- Support Safety Drills: Participate in emergency drills to ensure readiness.
- Report Issues Promptly: Document any near misses or safety concerns to meet safety standards.
- Safety Equipment Checks: Conduct monthly tests on the 508 Safety Critical Barriers to ensure safety standards are met.
Working Conditions and Expectations
This position is hands-on and requires adaptability to various working conditions, including:
- Physical Tasks: Lifting, carrying, and working at heights or confined spaces as needed.
- Shifts and Overtime: Expect to work on rotating shifts, sometimes including weekends and overtime.
