Transnet 2025 Internship Programme Now Open – No Experience Needed!

Transnet Invites Young South Africans to Apply for Their 2025 Graduate Internship Programme. The closing date for applications is 30 May 2025.

Are you a recent graduate looking to start your career with one of South Africa’s biggest companies? Transnet is giving you the chance to gain real working experience through its 2025 Graduate Internship Programme, and the best part is you don’t need any prior work experience to apply.

This programme runs for 24 months and is perfect for young people who have completed a National Diploma or Degree in Accounting or related fields. It’s not just a job – it’s a chance to learn, grow, and get trained by professionals in the field.

This internship takes place in Durban, under the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA). During the two years, you’ll be part of a structured training programme that will help you build important workplace skills and gain valuable experience. You’ll also receive regular feedback to help you grow and develop.

What You’ll Be Doing as a Transnet Intern

Here’s what the internship will include:

  • Following a structured training programme designed to build your skills.
  • Getting evaluated and reviewed regularly to track your progress.
  • Performing various tasks based on your training plan.
  • Getting hands-on experience while working alongside professionals in your field.

You will be placed in specific departments within TNPA (Port of Durban), depending on your qualifications and career goals. This means you’ll be learning in an area that matches what you studied and what you want to do in the future.

If you meet the following requirements, then you should definitely apply:

  • You have a National Diploma or Degree in Accounting or a related subject.

  • You’re eager to learn and grow professionally.
  • You are from KwaZulu-Natal (people from this province will be given preference).
  • People with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

What Skills Do You Need?

Even though no work experience is needed, you still need some basic skills to do well in this internship. These include:

  • Good writing and communication skills – you must be able to talk and write clearly.
  • Basic computer skills – knowing how to use Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Attention to detail – small mistakes can make a big difference.
  • Teamwork – you’ll be working with others, so you need to know how to cooperate.
  • Problem-solving skills – being able to think and fix issues when they come up.

Why You Should Apply

This internship is more than just a learning opportunity – it’s a chance to:

  • Get your foot in the door at one of South Africa’s top state-owned companies.
  • Grow your CV with real work experience.
