About the Transnet Young Professionals in Training Programme

The Transnet YPT Programme is a two-year structured learning journey where graduates are placed in different divisions of the organisation. This is not just classroom learning – you will be exposed to real projects, job rotations, mentorship, and leadership training.

The aim is simple: to help graduates move from theory to practice by giving them real workplace experience while contributing to South Africa’s economy.

During the programme, candidates will:

Work on meaningful projects that impact business operations.

What You Will Do as a Young Professional in Training

Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for the Transnet YPT Programme 2025, you need to meet the following:

Be a South African citizen between 18–35 years old.
Hold one of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) – Articles completed or admitted as Attorney.
- National Diploma/Degree in Human Resources Management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science or Statistics.
- National Diploma/Degree in Digital Marketing or Communications.
- BCom Degree in Finance, Cost Management, or Internal Audit.
- National Diploma/Degree in Safety Management or Environmental Health.
- National Diploma/BCom Degree in Environmental Management.
0–1 year work experience (graduates are encouraged).
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
