About the Position

The General Worker Team Leader role is vital to ensuring the smooth running of daily warehouse operations. In this position, you will oversee general warehouse activities, manage a team of workers, and ensure that goods are received, processed, and dispatched accurately and efficiently.

This is a hands-on role that requires leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to solve problems quickly. You’ll play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly while maintaining safety and compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities

As a General Worker Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and maintaining records of all goods and supplies received.
  • Organizing and arranging consignments in the warehouse once stock orders are placed.
  • Delegating tasks and managing shifts for team members.
  • Checking and verifying received goods against packing lists and invoices.
  • Ensuring full compliance with health and safety policies within the warehouse.
  • Communicating with different branches regarding shipments and deliveries.
  • Following and enforcing all company processes and procedures.
  • Planning and directing warehouse operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Inspecting and evaluating team performance to maintain high work standards.
  • Assisting clients, branches, and colleagues with any queries related to warehouse operations.
  • Resolving queries promptly, ideally within the same day.
  • Organizing transport for stock delivery to clients.
  • Ensuring proper filing and documentation of all departmental records.
  • Communicating shortages or stock discrepancies to relevant branches.
  • Preparing binning sheets and stock reports.
  • Making sure that full consignments are loaded with correct paperwork.
  • Scanning all parcels to ensure accuracy and prevent misrouting.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.

Requirements to Apply

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in English.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Valid unendorsed Code 10 driver’s license.
  • Valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit).
  • Must be available to work Monday to Friday from 11:00 – 21:00, with flexibility for overtime when needed.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Own reliable transport to and from work.
