Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Is Calling Life Sciences Graduates to Apply for Their 2025 Laboratory Assistant Internship – Applications Close on 25 July 2025 at 16:00

Are you a recent Life Sciences graduate from TUT who dreams of working in a real science lab? Do you want to gain hands-on lab skills and be mentored by some of South Africa’s top scientists? The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) is offering an exciting 12-month full-time internship programme for young graduates ready to step into the world of research, diagnostics, and plant-based medicine.

In partnership with the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) and the SARChI Chair in Phytomedicine, this internship gives you more than just experience – it gives you a future in science.

What Is the TUT Laboratory Assistant Internship All About?

This is not your average internship. The TUT Lab Assistant Programme is part of a serious scientific mission focused on natural products and phytomedicine (plant-based medicine). Interns will work directly with the Chair and Director of SARChI in Phytomedicine, gaining exposure to cutting-edge projects and real lab environments.

This opportunity is perfect for anyone who wants to work in:

  • Medical or pharmaceutical research
  • Quality control labs
  • Diagnostics and testing
  • Phytomedicine and biotechnology

If you love science and want to see what it’s like in a real lab setting, this programme is designed for you.
