What You’ll Be Doing Every Day

As a UCT Transport Driver, your job will be more than just driving. You’ll become part of a team responsible for keeping the university moving.

Your tasks will include:

Transporting students, staff, and visitors between campuses, residences, and official stops
Using a waybill system to track routes and passengers
Keeping your vehicle clean, safe, and road-ready at all times
Practicing defensive driving and reacting calmly in emergency situations
Giving passengers friendly, professional service
Following all national road traffic rules and university guidelines

You’ll report to the Operations Manager and may also be given other duties as required.

Who Should Apply?

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 certificate or NQF Level 4
5 years’ experience in the Passenger Transport Industry
Valid South African Driver’s License – Code C or EC
Professional Driver’s Permit (PrDP)
Good communication skills and a team-player attitude
Willingness to work shifts and under pressure

Extra Advantage:

Having an Advanced Driving Certificate will count in your favour
