Key Responsibilities: What You’ll Be Doing Every Day
Binning Duties:
- Put new stock in the correct bins as it comes in.
- Move items from bulk storage to smaller picking areas.
- Make sure bin labels are correct and updated when stock moves.
- Help with keeping track of stock and bin numbers.
- Receive and check incoming goods to make sure everything is correct.
Picking and Packing:
- Pick customer and branch orders quickly and correctly before cut-off times.
- Only take stock from bulk bins if there’s no more in the picking area.
- Help prevent damaged stock by picking carefully and correctly.
- Double-check orders before they go out to avoid mistakes.
- Follow company procedures to keep customers happy.
- Help with stock-taking activities when needed.
- Make sure your work area stays clean and organized.
Scanner Control:
- Hand out scanners to operators at the start of the shift.
- Record who uses which scanner using an app.
- Check scanners for damage when they are returned.
- Report any damage to your supervisor immediately.
- Keep a daily log of scanner use.
What You Need to Qualify
To apply for this job, you must have:
- Grade 12 certificate (or equivalent in literacy and numeracy).
- At least 3 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics setting (this is preferred, not required).
- Some knowledge of motor spares or engine parts is a big plus.
- Familiarity with warehouse systems and following procedures.
