What is the Youth Employment Service (YES) Program?

The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a public-private initiative led by the Presidency to address the youth unemployment crisis in South Africa. Eskom is proud to be part of this initiative and is offering work opportunities for unemployed South African youth across the country.

Successful candidates will get hands-on experience in the energy sector and work in Eskom’s various departments. This 12-month paid contract is a life-changing opportunity for young South Africans to enter the job market and start building their careers in an exciting and vital industry.

Who Should Apply?

Eskom is seeking enthusiastic and motivated candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:

Must be a South African Citizen living with disability.
Aged between 18 to 34 years old.
Grade 12 qualification with Mathematics, Accounting, Physical Science, and English.
Candidates must not have been employed permanently with any single employer continuously for more than 1 year.
Should not be studying full-time in the year of employment.
Should not have participated or registered in the YES initiative before.
Candidates must have honesty, integrity, professionalism, and a strong sense of accountability.
Excellent communication skills are required.

Selection Criteria

Applicants will undergo a recruitment process, and successful candidates will be placed in Eskom’s operations across the Central East Cluster in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
