Responsibilities of the Construction Miner

As a Construction Miner, your core responsibilities will include:

• Providing expert support and best practices within the mining section(s).
• Ensuring efficient execution and control of all blasting activities in the designated area to meet production goals and targets.
• Planning, supervising, and controlling subordinates in both stoping (ore extraction) and development areas.
• Ensuring equipment and materials are readily available to optimize production in the area of responsibility.
• Strictly adhering to the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) standards and promoting Gold One’s safety motto: “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely.”

This is a hands-on role that requires solid mining expertise, leadership, and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

What We Are Looking For:

To qualify for the role of Construction Miner, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Education:

Grade 11 or equivalent NQF4 qualification.

A Valid Blasting Certificate for Metalliferous Mines is essential.

Experience:

Minimum 2-3 years of previous experience in Trackless Mining.

Experience in TMM (Trackless Mobile Machinery), Conventional Development, Stoping, and Hydropower drilling.

Mining Production Supervisor Certificate will be advantageous.

Skills:

Strong English proficiency, as well as knowledge of any of South Africa’s other official languages.

Computer literacy is advantageous.

Ability to plan and manage tasks effectively to meet production goals.

Other Essential Requirements:

A South African Driver’s License (Code 8-10) is mandatory.

South African Citizenship is required.

Must have a clear criminal record.
