About the Role
As a General Worker at Alert Engine Parts, you’ll play an essential role in making sure the warehouse runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. Your main tasks will include managing stock, helping with packing and picking, keeping the warehouse clean, and assisting with inventory checks.
In this position, you will support our goal to provide top-notch service to customers by keeping everything organized and ensuring orders are processed accurately and quickly.
Key Responsibilities
Binning and Inventory Organization
- Organize Incoming Goods: Place new stock in designated bins, making sure everything is stored correctly and safely.
- Allocate and Update Bin Locations: Ensure that new products are placed in the correct warehouse areas and report changes to your supervisor for proper updates.
- Replenishment: Help move items from bulk storage to pick locations as needed.
Order Picking
- Timely Picking: Fulfill customer and branch orders by picking items quickly to meet order deadlines.
- Follow Procedures: Adhere to picking guidelines, especially when handling bulk items, to prevent breakages or errors.
- Assist in Stock Take: Help with regular stock checks to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Double-Checking: Perform final checks on orders to prevent errors and ensure customers receive the correct items.
Scanner Control
- Issue and Receive Scanners: Distribute scanners to operators, track their use on the electronic app, and inspect them for damage upon return.
- Report and Record: Log scanner usage on a daily spreadsheet and report any issues to the supervisor promptly.
Warehouse Maintenance
- Daily Housekeeping: Keep your work area clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
- Achieve Targets: Aim to meet the company’s operational targets consistently to contribute to high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Skills Needed
To thrive in this role, Alert Engine Parts is looking for someone with:
Education:
- Minimum of Grade 12, with good literacy and numeracy skills.
Experience:
- Ideally, 3 years in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Knowledge of motor and engine parts is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with warehouse systems and operations is an advantage.
Skills and Attributes:
