About the UIF Client Service Officer Role

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Matric/Grade 12 certificate.
  • Knowledge of the Unemployment Insurance Act, UIF Regulations, Public Financial Management Act, Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Treasury Regulations, Batho Pele Principles, UIF and Department of Labour policies.
  • Skills in interviewing, communication (verbal and written), computer literacy, conflict management, time management, customer relations, and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to interpret legislation, provide customer service, and handle administrative tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of a Client Service Officer include:

  • Screening and assisting applicants for UIF benefits.
  • Processing applications and payment contribution forms.
  • Performing general administrative tasks to support labour centre operations.
  • Ensuring adherence to UIF and departmental policies.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting.

This role requires individuals who are detail-oriented, customer-focused, and capable of working under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
