What You’ll Be Doing Each Day

- Greet every customer with a friendly smile when they enter the store
- Follow proper steps when counting and handling cash
- Check that the money received from customers is correct
- Handle EFT (card) payments safely and smoothly
- Ring up every item on the till properly and without mistakes
- Pack items neatly into shopping bags for the customer
- Hand over cash safely to your manager when required
- Count your cash drawer at the end of your shift to make sure everything balances
- Keep an eye out for anything suspicious to help prevent theft
- Know about all items that are on promotion or sale
- Help customers with gift cards and loyalty reward points
- Keep your workspace clean and tidy throughout the day
- Take part in regular stock counts to help with inventory control
- Take on any other tasks that your manager gives you
What You Need to Apply

- You’ve completed Matric or an equivalent qualification
- You’ve worked at least 1 year in a similar cashier or retail job
- You’ve completed the Brights Induction for service excellence
- You have a clear credit record
- You’re good with people and can offer great customer service
- You’re careful and alert when it comes to suspicious behavior
- You’re confident under pressure
- You’re good with numbers and calculations
- You can work well in a team, but also on your own when needed
- You’re organized, pay close attention to details, and can handle more than one task at a time
- You’re open to working flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, when the store needs it
