Key Duties and Responsibilities

This position includes a wide range of daily maintenance tasks and inspections.

General Building Maintenance

You will be responsible for:

  • Continuously inspecting buildings for maintenance issues
  • Identifying repair needs early before they become serious problems
  • Responding quickly to maintenance requests from tenants and staff
  • Completing assigned maintenance tasks from supervisors and managers

Electrical and Lighting Checks

Lighting and electrical safety are important parts of building maintenance.

Your duties include:

  • Replacing lights in toilets, passages, foyers, stairways, and parking areas
  • Checking external security lighting
  • Inspecting electrical distribution boards for loose wiring or faults
  • Reporting electrical problems that cannot be repaired immediately

Plumbing and Facility Checks

You will also be responsible for basic plumbing inspections such as:

  • Checking taps, basins, and urinals in bathrooms
  • Ensuring water systems are working properly
  • Monitoring pumps, water tanks, and related equipment

Equipment and Systems Maintenance

The building contains important systems that must always function correctly.

These include:

  • Air-conditioning systems
  • Standby pumps and sump pumps
  • Fire equipment and emergency systems
  • Water feature equipment where applicable

You will inspect these systems regularly and report any faults immediately.

Safety and Compliance Duties

Safety is a very important part of this role. You will be expected to:

  • Follow all safety rules and procedures
  • Conduct regular OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) inspections

Experience
