What You’ll Do as a Buco Cashier

As a cashier at BUCO, you’ll be the first person customers see when they walk into the store and the last person they speak to when they leave. Your main job is to give customers a friendly and professional experience, making sure they leave happy and want to come back.

Here are your daily tasks:

• Greet every customer with a smile
• Ring up items at the till
• Accept payments through cash, card, or other methods
• Hand out accurate receipts
• Keep the till balanced at the end of your shift
• Help build a good relationship between customers and the store
• Represent BUCO’s values and treat customers with respect
• Keep your working area neat and organised

What You Need to Qualify

• Grade 12 (Matric Certificate)
• Must speak and understand English well
• Must be willing to work retail hours – this includes weekends and public holidays
• Friendly and polite attitude is a must
• Good communication skills
• Being helpful and patient with customers
• Some experience as a cashier (2–3 years is a bonus but not required)
• Knowing how to use a computer (basic skills are enough)
• Knowledge of building materials is an added bonus
