Cashbuild is searching for a Cashier to join their team and ensure that all Point of Sale (POS) transactions are handled accurately and efficiently. If you are passionate about customer service and have a knack for numbers, this could be the perfect role for you!

Key Responsibilities:

Cash Handling:

Ensure all cash, including floats and petty cash, is balanced at the end of each shift.
Accurately process all transactions at the Point of Sale Terminal.
Handle payments, give correct change, and ensure pickups and cash-ups are done correctly.
Drop all takings into the Drop Safe/Vault at the end of your shift.
Handle transactions related to deliveries, quotes, and inter-store money correctly.

Administration:

Sign, compile, and file all related cashier documentation.
Ensure readiness for business as per company standards.

Customer Service:

Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service to all customers.
Assist customers with goods checkout and direct them to relevant team members if necessary.

Safety & Security:

Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHSA) standards to ensure customer and staff safety.
Follow system password control and cash transport security protocols.
Report any discrepancies or safety issues to the Store Manager.

Problem-Solving & Decision-Making:

Identify and resolve problems within your department.
Make decisions based on company policies and escalate issues when necessary.

Handling Pressure:

Maintain a calm and efficient approach, even under time or workload pressures.

Requirements:

Education: Grade 12 certificate or at least 1 year of related work experience.
Communication Skills: Proficient in English and the dominant language of the area.
Numeracy: Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.

Administration Skills: Strong organizational skills are a must.
Work Schedule: Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Ability to Work Under Pressure: Stay consistent and effective even in busy environments.
