💼 Job Description

As a Cashier at Brights Hardware, your role is all about giving customers a smooth and friendly checkout experience. You’ll handle cash, process card payments, and make sure every purchase is processed correctly. Your goal? Keep customers happy and help the business grow!

🔑 Key Responsibilities

✅ Greet customers warmly as they enter the store.
✅ Handle cash and card payments following proper procedures.
✅ Ensure correct pricing when ringing up sales.
✅ Pack customer purchases neatly into bags.
✅ Monitor cash transactions to prevent errors or fraud.
✅ Perform daily cash-ups and hand over cash drops securely.

✅ Be alert for suspicious activity to maintain store security.
✅ Stay updated on promotions and special discounts.
✅ Assist customers with reward cards and gift vouchers.
✅ Keep your workspace clean and organized at all times.
✅ Help with stock takes when needed.
✅ Perform other store duties as assigned by management.

📌 Job Requirements

✔ Matric Certificate (or equivalent).
✔ At least 1 year of experience as a cashier or in a similar role.
✔ Must have completed Brights Hardware Induction (Service Excellence).
✔ Good credit record (no financial issues).
✔ Great customer service skills – friendly and approachable.

✔ Strong attention to detail – no room for mistakes at the till!
✔ Team player mindset – work well with others.
✔ Ability to work under pressure in a busy retail environment.
✔ Basic math skills to handle cash transactions accurately.
✔ Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
