Job Description

As a Shop Assistant Cashier at Clicks, your primary goal is to deliver service excellence through efficient customer service, smooth point of sale (POS) operations, and effective in-store merchandising. You will play a key role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers during the bustling festive season.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence: Efficiently execute all operational activities at the point of sale in a timely and accurate manner.

Sales Transactions: Maintain high levels of accuracy when scanning merchandise, collecting payments, and processing clubcard rewards.

Cash Handling: Ensure the safe and secure handling of cash at all times.

Clubcard Promotion: Proactively promote Clicks’ clubcard and enroll new members to achieve participation targets.

Customer Engagement: Inform customers about current promotions to enhance sales and ensure they feel valued and receive the best deals.

Customer Service: Act as a brand ambassador by providing friendly, professional, and visible customer service.

Merchandising: Execute and maintain all merchandising and general housekeeping duties according to store and visual merchandise standards.

Product Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, ranges, promotions, and events to provide accurate information to customers.

Support Vision: Contribute to the Group’s vision of being the customer’s first choice health and beauty retailer by embodying and driving company values.

Requirements

Education:

Essential: Grade 12
Desirable: Grade 12 with Maths 50% and English 50%

Experience:

Desirable: Experience in a customer-facing role within a retail or FMCG store operations environment.

Skills:

Basic maths calculations
Retail/FMCG background with an understanding of merchandising and promotion principles
Understanding of stock management procedures
Strong customer service orientation

Planning and organizing skills
Problem-solving abilities
Good communication skills
Computer literacy
Numeracy skills
