COJ is Hiring EPWP Data Capturers – Monthly stipend: R3,500 – Apply Now

The City of Johannesburg (COJ) is inviting qualified individuals to apply for the role of EPWP Data Capturers as part of its 2024 Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).

This programme is designed to offer temporary job opportunities, particularly to unemployed youth, and aims to provide them with the skills necessary for future employability. If you meet the requirements, you could earn a monthly stipend of R3,500 while contributing to the city’s health department!

Job Overview:

As an EPWP Data Capturer, you will play a key role in assisting clinics with data management, helping to update client records and ensuring the smooth flow of operations within health facilities. You’ll also work alongside other general workers and queue marshals to create a welcoming environment for patients.

What You Need to Apply:

  • Educational Requirements: Grade 10 or higher
  • Age Range: Youth aged 18 and older (Preference given to youth)
  • Special Consideration: People with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
  • Skills Required:
    • Good numeric skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
    • Experience with electronic devices, such as sending emails and using the internet.
    • Basic knowledge of the City of Johannesburg’s health and social policies is beneficial.

Primary Responsibilities:

General Worker Duties:

  • Clean waiting areas, consulting rooms, kitchens, and other clinic spaces.
  • Ensure that all surfaces used for clinical procedures are appropriately cleaned.
  • Change soiled linen and empty dustbins, maintaining cleanliness in and around the clinic.

Data Capturer Duties:

  • Capture and update client records.
  • Compile monthly statistics on clinic visitors.
  • Manage clinic appointments and ensure records are filed accurately.
  • Order necessary supplies like stationary and clinic records to ensure the clinic runs smoothly.

Queue Marshal Duties:

  • Welcome and assist patients and visitors at the clinic.
  • Direct clinic clients to appropriate areas and ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Control queues and answer any patient inquiries.
  • Screen patients and manage the helpdesk to assist with clinic operations.

Teamwork and Accountability: Ability to work effectively within a team and maintain integrity and professionalism at all times.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Organizational Abilities: Strong time management and organizational skills to ensure efficiency.

Customer Service: Commitment to Batho Pele principles, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
