Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you’ll need:
- A qualification in Early Childhood Development (ECD)
- Relevant experience in a similar classroom or school support role
- A clear criminal record (safety is a top priority in all Curro schools)
Key Responsibilities
As a Class Assistant, you will play an important support role in the classroom. Your tasks will include:
- Classroom and Learning Support
- Assist the class teacher with lessons and activities.
- Help maintain a calm, organised, and educational atmosphere in the classroom.
- Support learners during lessons to help them stay engaged and confident.
- School Equipment and Stock Management
- Take responsibility for all school materials, books, and equipment in the class.
- Assist with keeping teaching spaces neat and well-prepared.
- Collaboration with Teachers
- Work closely with the phase teachers to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Support lesson planning and preparation.
- Sport and Cultural Activities
- Help organise and supervise sporting events, cultural activities, and other extra-curricular programmes.
- Encourage learners to participate and enjoy a balanced school life.
- Administrative and Other Duties
- Assist with admin work such as attendance registers and basic record-keeping.
- Step in for other duties as needed to support the school.
