What You Will Be Doing Every Day

As a Clinic Receptionist, your daily tasks will include:

• Welcoming and registering patients following company procedures.
• Assisting patients to fill out important medical forms, including forms for their medical aid.
• Keeping track of medical equipment, supplies, and medicines to make sure nothing runs out.
• Informing patients about clinic rules and managing their personal records.
• Creating new patient files and making sure all information is correct.
• Processing medical aid payments properly.
• Managing patient flow so that appointments happen on time.
• Collecting medical reports when necessary.
• Keeping the reception area clean and private to protect patient confidentiality.
• Answering all incoming phone calls quickly and politely.
• Giving clear and correct information to callers.
• Taking down caller details carefully and making sure the right staff members get the messages.
• Helping visitors reach staff members for meetings or deliveries.
• Providing area codes, telephone numbers, and any other requested information.
• Giving patients feedback on their queries as soon as possible.
• Helping patients during emergencies.
• Advising and assisting patients with medical aid authorization.
• Following up with patients when needed.

What Skills Do You Need?

• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to follow and give both oral and written instructions.

Extra Requirements

• Must be a South African citizen.
• Must be able to sit at a desk for most of the day.
• Must pass background checks (criminal and credit).
• A driver’s license and/or your own reliable transport is a plus.
