What You Will Do as a Delivery Driver

Your main role will be to drive a delivery truck safely and make sure that products reach the right place on time and in good condition. You will be responsible for checking the truck before every trip to make sure it’s safe to drive. Accurate deliveries and good communication with customers and warehouse staff are very important.

Your daily duties include:

• Keeping correct records of your trips, such as mileage, fuel used, and delivery receipts.
• Staying professional in all communications and helping solve any delivery-related questions.
• Reporting any truck problems quickly to the right people and following company rules for maintenance.
• Following all company policies, traffic laws, and safety rules.
• Keeping your truck clean, organized, and stocked with the right documents.
• Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a safe working environment.
• Attending meetings, training sessions, and supporting your team’s goals.

What You Need to Qualify for This Role

To succeed as a Delivery Driver at Econo Foods, you should have:

• A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or similar qualification.
• 3 to 5 years of driving experience, especially in FMCG retail if possible.
• A valid CODE 10 driver’s license.
• Ability to build good relationships and work well in a team.
• Confidence yet humble attitude, friendly and helpful always.
• Skill in working fast in a busy, competitive environment.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication.
• Good computer knowledge, especially Microsoft Office.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in your work.
