Purpose of the Role

We are searching for dynamic Store, Assistant, and Trainee Managers to lead our Econo Foods retail stores across Gauteng. The perfect candidate has a strong track record in retail, excels at hitting sales goals, provides stellar customer service, and maintains high operational standards. Key Responsibilities

In this management role, you will take on various responsibilities that support the growth and success of our stores:

Drive Sales and Customer Service: Inspire and lead the team to meet sales goals while ensuring every customer receives world-class service.

Stock and Merchandising Management: Oversee stock management, including product display, pricing, stock counts, and managing expiry dates to maintain excellent store standards.

Team Recruitment and Development: Build a strong, high-performing team by recruiting, training, and managing staff in line with Econo Foods’ values.

Cash and Financial Oversight: Handle cash management tasks, such as preparing floats, daily banking, and providing support to cashiers as needed.

Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain hygiene standards for both the store and products.

Sales Data Analysis: Review sales reports to identify opportunities for growth and improvement in store performance.

Operational Management: Take charge of opening and closing procedures, store security, and addressing any challenges with confidence and efficiency.

Customer and Vendor Relations: Build lasting positive relationships with customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

Here’s what we’re looking for in a qualified candidate:

Education: Matric certificate or equivalent. A tertiary qualification is a plus.
Experience: 3-5 years as a Store Manager, Assistant Manager, or Trainee Manager, ideally in FMCG or retail.
Retail Knowledge: Strong understanding of store operations, inventory management, and merchandising.
Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and ideally access to a vehicle.
