Eskom Hiring Now for 6 Technical Official Vacancies – Apply Before It’s Too Late!

Who Can Apply?

To be considered, you’ll need to meet some basic education and experience requirements. Here’s what Eskom is looking for:

Minimum Education Requirements:

You must have at least one of the following:

  • Grade 12 with Maths and Science
  • NCV Level 4
  • NSC Level 3
  • N3 Engineering (at NQF Level 4 with 120 credits)

Work Experience Needed:

You should have at least 2 years of hands-on experience working with electrical distribution networks – especially operating and maintaining them.

What You Should Know

Eskom wants people who understand the basics of how power systems work and how to stay safe while working with them. Here’s what else you should know or be familiar with:

  • Eskom’s safety rules, standards, and procedures
  • Transformers, switches, and other equipment in power plants
  • ISO 9001 and 14001 (Quality and Environmental Standards)
  • Emergency safety response
  • High and low voltage systems – up to 33kV
  • Line construction and maintenance
  • Using tools and machines like cranes, auger drills, and rock drills
  • Health, safety, and the environment

Extra Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

  • Having a valid driver’s license (EC/EB/C1)
  • Holding a Public Driver’s Permit (PDP)
  • Good at communication and working with people
  • Understanding of workshop basics
  • Already certified in meter work, single-phase testing, or using mobile platforms

What Will You Be Doing?

If you’re hired, your daily tasks will be meaningful and important. You won’t just sit at a desk — you’ll be out in the field making sure the power system runs smoothly.

Here’s what your job will include:

  • Fixing any system breakdowns
  • Doing regular checks and maintenance
  • Helping with small building and electrical projects
  • Making sure safety rules are followed
  • Helping customers with their service needs
