🔒 What You’ll Be Doing (Job Responsibilities)

As a Security Officer at Exxaro Mine, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of employees, assets, and visitors on-site.

👮‍♂️ Security & Risk Control Duties:

✅ Patrol the mine premises on foot and in vehicles to ensure security
✅ Control access to mine areas and check identification of visitors and employees
✅ Monitor security cameras and alarm systems
✅ Respond quickly to security threats or emergencies
✅ Escort visitors and employees to various mine locations
✅ Assist in preliminary investigations and gather evidence at crime scenes
✅ Perform crowd control duties when necessary

📑 Administrative & Safety Responsibilities:

✅ Maintain and update security reports and records
✅ Inspect fire safety equipment and industrial action vehicles
✅ Report any irregular activities or security breaches
✅ Follow all Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) policies
✅ Wear and enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times

📜 What You Need to Apply (Minimum Requirements)

🎓 Qualifications:

✅ Grade 12 (Matric) – Essential
✅ Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) – Grade C Certification – Essential

💼 Experience:
✅ 1-2 years of relevant security experience in a mine or industrial setting

🚗 Additional Requirements:

✅ Valid Code B Driver’s License – Essential
✅ Certificate of Fitness – Essential
✅ Successful completion of Psychometric Assessment

✅ Strong attention to detail and observation skills
✅ Quick response to emergencies and threats
✅ Ability to work under pressure and in high-risk situations
