As a Butchery Counterhand, you will be responsible for serving customers, preparing and displaying meat cuts, maintaining stock levels, and keeping the work area clean. Your role is crucial in ensuring that customers receive fresh, high-quality meat with excellent service.

✅ Key Responsibilities

✔ Prepare and cut meat – trim, portion, and package different types of meat based on customer requests.
✔ Greet and assist customers – help them choose the right meat products and answer any questions.
✔ Arrange and display meat cuts – make sure everything looks fresh and appealing.
✔ Check stock levels and notify the manager if supplies are running low.
✔ Maintain cleanliness – keep the work area neat by disposing of waste and following hygiene guidelines.
✔ Update pricing – ensure all items have the correct price tags.
✔ Handle payments – process cash and card transactions accurately.
✔ Work with the team to prepare customer orders quickly, especially during busy hours.
✔ Ensure meat quality – inspect products and report any issues to the supervisor.
✔ Restock supplies – keep necessary items like bags and wrapping paper available throughout the day.
✔ Follow health and safety rules – store meat correctly to prevent cross-contamination.
✔ Take care of butchery tools – clean and maintain meat-cutting equipment properly.
✔ Listen to customer feedback and share suggestions to improve products and service.

🎓 Job Requirements

✔ Matric (Grade 12) certificate.
✔ Must live within 15km of the job location.
✔ Clear criminal record.

🔹 Experience in butchery work is a plus, but not required!
