Fidelity ADT Is Taking CVs For Receptionist

Fidelity ADT is inviting suitably qualified applicants to apply for a Receptionist position. The role involves much more than answering the telephone and welcoming visitors. The successful candidate will support reception, administration, purchasing, filing, banking, sales leads and customer queries. The closing date for applications is 28 August 2026.

If you are organised, confident when dealing with people and comfortable handling several tasks during the day, this Fidelity ADT Receptionist vacancy could be an opportunity worth considering. The position requires someone who can communicate professionally, keep information organised and provide support to different teams within the branch.

Fidelity ADT Receptionist Vacancy

A receptionist is often one of the first people a customer or visitor speaks to when contacting a company.

At Fidelity ADT, the role goes beyond simply answering calls.

The receptionist will help direct customers to the correct department, manage telephone calls, handle correspondence, assist with purchases, maintain files, support banking duties and help the sales team manage leads.

This makes the position an important part of the branch’s daily operations.

The successful candidate should be able to stay organised and remain professional while dealing with customers, employees, suppliers and other stakeholders.

What Will the Fidelity ADT Receptionist Do?

The job includes several different responsibilities. You may handle a number of tasks on the same day, so being able to prioritise your work is important.

Reception and Telephone Duties

One of the main responsibilities will be managing the reception area and telephone system.

You will be expected to:

  • Welcome and assist walk-in clients.
  • Direct walk-in clients to the correct department.
  • Direct telephone enquiries to the appropriate department.
  • Operate the switchboard.
  • Receive incoming calls.
  • Transfer calls to the correct person.
  • Take messages when employees are unavailable.
  • Handle correspondence.
  • Receive incoming faxes.
  • Make sure faxes and other correspondence reach the correct person.

Good communication skills are important because you may be dealing with customers who need quick assistance.

You should be able to listen carefully, understand what the person needs and direct them to the right department or employee.

Purchasing and Ordering Supplies

The receptionist will also assist with purchasing and ordering items needed by the branch.

This can include ordering stationery from Head Office, such as contract books, as well as arranging local stationery requisitions for items such as pens and paper.

You may also help arrange general grocery supplies, including:

  • Coffee.
  • Tea.
  • Sugar.
  • Milk.

Other purchases may also be requested from time to time.

For these purchases, you may need to follow several steps.

These can include:

  1. Obtaining a quotation from the supplier.
  2. Creating or requesting a requisition.
  3. Obtaining a purchase order from Procurement at Head Office.
  4. Placing the order with the supplier.
  5. Receiving and checking the goods.
  6. Combining the supplier invoice with the purchase order.
  7. Handing the documents to the person responsible for receipting at the branch.

This part of the job requires good organisation because orders, quotations, purchase orders and invoices need to be handled correctly.

Filing and Document Management

Keeping documents organised is another responsibility.

The receptionist will help prepare individual files and make sure the correct documents are placed in each file.

Files must be organised alphabetically according to the relevant Debtor Code.

Accurate filing is important because staff need to be able to find information when they need it.

You should therefore be comfortable working with documents and following a set filing system.

Finance and Banking Duties

The position also includes basic banking-related responsibilities.

The receptionist will be responsible for daily banking and posting the banking information on the Q-Drive.

This means accuracy is very important.

Financial information should be recorded correctly and handled according to the required company procedures.

If you are working with banking records, you should take your time to check information before submitting or recording it.

Supporting the Sales Team

One of the more interesting parts of this position is the support provided to the sales department.

The receptionist will receive leads from telephone enquiries and walk-in clients.

When a potential customer contacts the branch, the receptionist will help make sure the lead gets to the correct sales consultant.

You may be expected to:

  • Receive sales leads from phone calls.
  • Receive leads from walk-in customers.
  • Complete the required lead paperwork.
  • Capture leads on Listener on the same day.
  • Capture leads on individual representative or consultant pages on Q-Drive.
  • Capture leads on the Sales Manager’s page on Q-Drive.
  • Communicate lead information to sales consultants through Listener, one SMS and two emails.
  • Draw the previous day’s leads from Listener.
  • Divide leads between consultants.
  • Follow the normal lead process.
  • Assist with telesales.

This means the receptionist plays a role in helping potential customers move from an initial enquiry to the sales team.

Daily Sales Reporting

The role also includes reporting responsibilities.

A Sales Activity Report must be prepared at 16h00 each day and sent to the relevant staff members.

There are also specific weekly tasks.

Wednesday Morning

On Wednesday mornings, the receptionist will send reminders to consultants asking them to update feedback on their individual Q-Drive pages.

Thursday Morning

Thursday mornings involve actioning consultant instructions on Listener.

This may include tasks such as closing leads when instructed.

Tuesday and Friday Mornings

On Tuesday and Friday mornings, the receptionist will update self-generated leads.

These regular tasks mean the successful candidate needs to keep track of deadlines and follow the correct process.

Helping Customers With Queries

Customer service is another important part of the job.

The receptionist will assist walk-in clients who have questions or need help.

Where necessary, the receptionist will liaise with Head Office, particularly the Sales team, to help resolve customer queries.

The ability to remain calm and polite when dealing with customers is therefore important.

Not every customer will have a simple question. Some may need information from another department, which means you need to know who to contact and how to follow up.

Skills That Can Help You Succeed

This is a varied role, so the right attitude and working style can make a big difference.

A successful receptionist should be:

  • Well organised.
  • Professional when dealing with customers.
  • Confident when communicating with people.
  • Comfortable answering and transferring calls.
  • Able to manage several tasks.
  • Careful when handling documents.
  • Accurate when capturing information.
  • Able to follow procedures.
  • Comfortable working with different teams.
  • Customer focused.
  • Reliable and responsible.
  • Able to meet daily and weekly deadlines.
  • Willing to assist with different tasks when required.

Because the role includes reception, administration, finance, purchasing and sales support, flexibility is also important.

Why This Receptionist Role Stands Out

Many receptionist positions focus mainly on answering calls and welcoming visitors.

This Fidelity ADT position has a much wider range of responsibilities.

You can gain exposure to several areas of business operations, including administration, purchasing, finance, customer service and sales support.

You will also work with systems such as Listener and Q-Drive, while gaining experience with documents, purchase orders, supplier invoices, banking records and sales leads.

That variety can help you build useful workplace skills and understand how different departments work together.
