Key Responsibilities You’ll Take On
- Respond immediately to alarms and emergencies while armed.
- Patrol your designated areas to prevent crimes and ensure safety.
- Quickly respond to incidents and investigate anything suspicious.
- Work closely with control room staff to coordinate actions.
- Help stop crime by being a strong, visible armed presence.
- Write incident reports and keep good records of your patrols.
- Ensure smooth and safe handover procedures.
- Use skills to calm tense situations and avoid violence when possible.
- Follow best practices for threat assessment and apply the right level of force.
- Stay fit and ready to manage high-pressure, physically demanding situations.
What You Need to Qualify
- Have a Grade 10 or NQF level 4 qualification.
- Be PSIRA registered (Grade B or higher) with a valid Armed Reaction Certificate.
- Hold a valid SAPS Firearm Competency Certificate for Handgun, Shotgun, and Rifle for business use.
- Preferably have at least 2 years of experience in armed response or law enforcement.
- Mining experience is a bonus.
- Clean criminal record.
- Physically fit to handle long shifts and quick responses.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- A valid driver’s license with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
