Garden Route Offers FREE Driver’s License Training (140 Spots!) – Apply Before April 25

Garden Route District Municipality (GRDM) invites suitably qualified and unemployed young people to apply for their Code C Driver’s License Training Programme (💥 140 Posts Available! 💥). The closing date for applications is 25 April 2025 – so don’t miss your chance to jumpstart your career with this life-changing opportunity!

🚛 What’s This About?

If you’re between 18 and 40 years old, living in the Garden Route area, and looking to improve your life, here’s your chance! GRDM is offering free Driver’s License (Code C) training through the Garden Route Skills Mecca initiative.

This program is here to help you get the skills you need to succeed. It’s completely FREE, and it could open the door to many job opportunities in the future.

📍 Where Are These Opportunities?

There are 140 training spots available, and they are split evenly across 7 local municipalities:

• Hessequa
• Mossel Bay
• George
• Knysna
• Bitou
• Oudtshoorn
• Kannaland

Each municipal area will get 20 training opportunities. So, no matter where you live in the Garden Route District, you’ve got a fair shot at this!

✅ Who Can Apply?

To qualify, you must meet these simple requirements:

• You must be 18 to 40 years old
• You must live in one of the 7 Garden Route areas
• You must have at least Grade 11 or an equivalent qualification

It doesn’t matter if you’re male or female – everyone is welcome to apply!

📘 What Will You Learn?

Once you’re accepted, this programme will give you hands-on driving training and help you earn your Code C (Heavy Vehicle) Driver’s License. Here’s a quick look at what you’ll be trained in:

• Safe driving habits to avoid accidents and keep roads safer
• Advanced vehicle control and smart driving techniques
• Full training based on the K53 test standards, which are used in the official driving tests in South Africa

By the end of this course, you’ll be fully prepared to pass the K53 driving test and get your license. You’ll also have real skills that employers are looking for!

📎 What You Need to Apply

To apply, you must upload the following documents online:

1. Your updated CV
2. A certified copy of your South African ID (both sides of the ID card)
3. A certified copy of your highest school qualification

Your application won’t be accepted if it’s missing any of these documents!
