Minimum Requirements
To apply, you must have:
- Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification)
- An accredited secretarial diploma or administrative qualification at NQF level 5 or higher
- At least 3 years of relevant experience providing secretarial or administrative support to senior management
What You’ll Do in This Role
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Reception and Secretarial Duties:
- Greet visitors and answer calls in a professional way.
- Keep the manager’s diary updated.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Meeting Support:
- Organise and prepare meetings.
- Take minutes and follow up on action points.
- Policy and Procedure Management:
- Read and understand government and departmental rules.
- Apply these correctly when handling tasks.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Keep filing systems updated.
- Draft and format documents.
- Manage stationery and office supplies.
- Budget Administration:
- Help the manager monitor and manage the office budget.
- Process payments and check invoices.
Skills and Competencies You Need
- Knowledge of:
- Government policies, laws, and regulations
- Financial administration processes
- Information systems like LOGIS
- Report writing and procedures
