About the Job
As a General Worker (Bakery) at GWK Agri, your main role will be to help produce top-quality confectionery products according to the production plans set by the Bakery Manager. This includes everything from mixing ingredients to decorating the final baked goods so they look as good as they taste.
What You Need to Apply
To be considered for this role, you’ll need:
- At least 3 years of baking experience
- A Matric / NQF Level 4 qualification or equivalent
- A recognized technical qualification in confectionery
- A real passion for food, people, and cleanliness
- Willingness to work shifts
- A creative touch for making bakery items look appealing
- Completed training in safety, bakery manufacturing, and hygiene
- Understanding of cold chain and hygiene protocols
- Good knowledge of bakery ingredients, quality standards, and equipment
- A clean criminal record
Your Daily Duties Will Include
- Providing excellent customer service by taking orders and giving helpful product advice
- Mixing, preparing, and baking different confectionery items to meet set standards
- Decorating cakes, pastries, and breads in an attractive way
- Managing recipe costs and preparing them accurately
- Leading a bakery team and delegating tasks effectively
- Keeping the bakery clean, safe, and well-organized
- Maintaining the right stock levels for smooth production
- Following strict cold chain and hygiene rules to keep products fresh
- Operating bakery equipment safely and keeping it in good condition
- Staying up to date with baking trends and techniques
- Cleaning display cabinets, tools, and prep areas regularly
- Always following food safety rules
