🔐 Job Description – What You’ll Be Doing
We are looking for VIP Security Officers to join our team at Kenilworth, Milnerton, and Durbanville Racecourses. As a VIP Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of staff, customers, and the premises. This includes monitoring surveillance equipment, patrolling, and preventing theft or security threats.

✅ Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Grade C Security Certification
- Computer literacy (basic Microsoft Office skills)
- 1-2 years of experience in a security role
- PSIRA Registration (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority)
- A valid driver’s license (added advantage, but not mandatory)
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
1️⃣ Opening & Closing Duties
- Arrive 15 minutes before the branch opens.
- Assist the Branch Manager/Senior Team Leader during opening.
- Conduct a perimeter patrol before the branch opens.
- Check the area for suspicious movements before allowing entry.
- Be alert and vigilant at all times.
- Perform a floor walk after the branch opens to ensure everything is in order.
- Support the closing procedure by minimizing entry risks and securing doors.
2️⃣ Surveillance & Security Checks
- Monitor inside and outside the branch, including entrances, exits, back areas, and parking zones.
- Ensure two-way radios and panic buttons are fully charged and working.
- Keep communication devices on you at all times for emergencies.
3️⃣ Search & Screening Procedures
- Scan guests entering the branch using a security scanner (no cross-gender scanning allowed).
- Male officers search male guests; female officers search female guests.
- Female handbags must be searched using a stick.
- Male guests cannot bring bags inside the branch.
- Ensure that doors remain closed at the search zone.
4️⃣ Traffic & Crowd Control
- Direct vehicle and foot traffic to ensure a smooth flow.
- Control the number of vehicles entering and exiting the building.
5️⃣ Additional Responsibilities
- Attend security meetings when required.
- Assist with stock receiving, alarm testing, and daily reports (submitted by 10:00 AM).
- Ensure security equipment is well-maintained and stored safely.
