About the Job

Are you a reliable driver with a valid license? Do you have experience in deliveries or transporting goods? If so, Lewis Furniture wants YOU! As a Delivery Driver, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that customer orders are delivered safely, on time, and with a smile.

Your role will go beyond just driving—you’ll also help keep our delivery process smooth and professional. From maintaining your vehicle to assisting with customer service, your contribution will help keep our business running efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing

Here’s a breakdown of what your daily work will look like:

Vehicle Maintenance & Safety

Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained (inside and out).
Ensure the loading deck is clear for quick and safe deliveries.
Monitor vehicle performance and report any issues for repairs or servicing.
Park the vehicle in a safe location overnight as instructed by your manager.
Immediately report incidents or theft to the tracking company and police.

Deliveries & Customer Service

Make sure the correct stock is delivered to the right customers.
Ensure all merchandise is properly loaded and secured before transport.
Clearly introduce yourself and the company when delivering to customers.
Assist customers by placing furniture in their homes.
Contact the manager if there are any issues with a delivery to keep customers satisfied.
Handle customer complaints related to deliveries and escalate serious issues.

Road Safety & Compliance

Follow all traffic laws and company driving policies.
Never give lifts to strangers while on duty.
Use navigation tools to plan and optimize delivery routes.
Ensure a safe working environment by following risk assessment guidelines.

Extra Store Support

Sometimes, you may need to help out with other store tasks like:

✔ Assisting with displays and promotions.
✔ Keeping the store neat and tidy.
✔ Supporting sales and helping manage customer accounts.

📝 Job Requirements

To apply for this position, you must have:

✔ Matric (Grade 12)
✔ Valid Code B Driver’s License
✔ Good English communication skills
✔ Clear criminal record
