Key Responsibilities

In this Driver position, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure smooth delivery operations:

Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it’s in excellent condition. This includes cleanliness (inside and out) and scheduling repairs when needed.

Merchandise Delivery: Ensure merchandise is delivered to the right customer in a timely manner. You’ll be responsible for loading and securing goods, managing offloading, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Customer Service: Provide a positive customer experience by delivering goods with a friendly, supportive attitude. Assist customers with placing merchandise in their homes and report any discrepancies to your manager.

Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all road safety rules, regulations, and company policies. You’ll ensure that the vehicle is securely parked overnight and take responsibility for the vehicle’s petrol card.

Additional Responsibilities

While the primary focus of the role is on transportation and delivery, you may be required to support other aspects of the business, such as:

Assisting in store displays or promotions
Managing general housekeeping to maintain a professional store environment
Supporting store operations like managing the debtor’s book or assisting during peak sales periods

Required Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Matric Certificate: A minimum educational requirement.
Driver’s License: A valid B license is essential.
Experience: Previous experience as a driver, ideally within 15km of the job site.
Clean Criminal Record: A clear background is mandatory for employment.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required for communication with customers and team members.
Road Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with local roads and transport systems, with a focus on safety regulations.

Preferred Skills

While not required, the following attributes would be advantageous:

South African citizenship
Strong customer service orientation,
Knowledge of how to use road maps and plot routes effectively
Self-discipline to ensure compliance with all road and safety regulations
