What You’ll Be Doing – Shop Assistant & Cashier Duties

At Mambos, every team member plays an important role in creating a welcoming and organized shopping experience. Depending on your role, you’ll be involved in a variety of tasks to keep the store running smoothly.

As a Cashier, your duties will include:

Operating the cash register quickly and accurately
Greeting customers with a smile and providing excellent service
Helping shoppers with questions and finding products
Keeping the till area clean and organized
Reporting any issues, scanning errors, or stock concerns to management
Handling payments and following store procedures to reduce cash losses
Supporting the team with general store duties as needed

As a Shop Assistant, your duties will include:

Stocking shelves neatly and ensuring items are in the right place
Unpacking boxes and organizing stock in the store room
Setting up attractive product displays using store planograms
Keeping shelves and floors clean and tidy
Making sure products are easy for customers to find
Following all safety procedures and reporting any hazards

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
Previous retail or customer service experience is a bonus
Comfortable working flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Able to handle physical tasks like unpacking stock and standing for long periods

Key Skills:

Friendly and positive attitude
Strong verbal communication
Time management and reliability
Able to work independently and with a team
Willing to follow rules and learn new things
Knowledge of retail or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) is a plus
