South African Reserve Bank Hiring Hospitality Administrators (X3 Positions) – Apply Before 12 August 2025!

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Hospitality Administrator Vacancies (X3 Posts). The closing date for applications is 12 August 2025 at 11:55 PM.

Are you a people-first, detail-driven person who enjoys working in a professional and structured environment? The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is hiring three Hospitality Administrators to join its Corporate Services Department. This is a full-time role where you’ll help manage the behind-the-scenes operations of SARB’s internal hospitality services — from food safety and stock ordering to assisting staff and managing petty cash.

This is more than a regular office job — it’s a chance to work for one of the most trusted institutions in the country, helping support the team behind South Africa’s financial system.

Why You Should Apply to SARB

Working at the South African Reserve Bank is more than just a job. SARB plays a critical role in the country’s financial stability, and this position gives you the chance to be part of that purpose — even if you’re not working with money directly. As a Hospitality Administrator, you’ll support employees and guests by making sure SARB’s services run smoothly and professionally.

If you’re someone who’s organised, reliable, good with people, and knows how to handle admin tasks, this job could be the start of something big for your career.

What You’ll Do as a Hospitality Administrator

As part of SARB’s Hospitality Services team, your main responsibility will be to manage and support all hospitality systems and services, especially when it comes to food safety, hygiene, stock, and general admin. You’ll also help make sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes for staff events and daily catering.

Here’s what your day-to-day work might include:

  • Helping plan tasks and setting short-term work goals with your team leader
  • Generating reports and summaries for team leaders and senior management
  • Providing quotes and handling service requests, including tracking related costs
  • Communicating clearly and kindly with SARB staff regarding orders and hospitality needs
  • Managing stock ordering, keeping documents in order, and capturing important data
  • Taking meeting minutes and distributing them
  • Managing petty cash and access control systems
  • Administering the Lunch Club programme and point-of-sale activities
  • Acting as second-in-charge for the cash loader and POS (Point-of-Sale) systems
  • Following all food safety and hygiene rules
  • Handling customer queries and resolving complaints in a respectful way
  • Organising awareness campaigns for the Hospitality Section
  • Identifying any personal performance gaps and working to improve

What You Need to Qualify

To apply, make sure you meet these minimum qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

  • Higher Certificate (NQF5) in Office Administration, Events Management, Marketing, or equivalent

Work Experience:

  • 2 to 5 years experience in a hospitality admin or customer service role
  • Strong understanding of admin processes, stock control, and customer interaction

Soft Skills & Personal Qualities

You’ll also need to show you’ve got the right attitude and people skills, including:

  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Focused on service delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Able to solve problems calmly and effectively
  • Motivated to meet deadlines and get results
  • Able to make good decisions and exercise sound judgment
  • Strong sense of resilience and professionalism

A Bit About the South African Reserve Bank (SARB)

The South African Reserve Bank is the central bank of the country. Its main job is to protect the value of the South African rand and ensure the financial system remains stable. While its work is usually associated with monetary policy and interest rates, SARB also supports day-to-day operations — like hospitality — to help keep everything running efficiently.

SARB works independently from government and focuses on keeping inflation low, maintaining financial stability, regulating financial institutions, and producing banknotes and coins.

The Corporate Services Department (CSD) — where this role is based — supports these efforts by managing services like hospitality, building management, logistics, and more.
