Who Can Apply for the Markham YES Program?

Before you get too excited, let’s make sure you meet the basic requirements. Here’s what you need:

You must be between 18 and 28 years old.
Matric Certificate is preferred, but Grade 10 is the minimum requirement.
Be available and willing to work for 12 months on a fixed-term contract.
You should not have been permanently employed by any employer for longer than one year.
You must not be studying full-time during the work period (April 2025 – March 2026).
You must not have joined the YES program before.
You must be responsible for your own accommodation and transport (if needed).

Note: Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups under the Employment Equity Act.
