This role is based at Minopex’s operational site in Postmasburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment. You will work according to technical specifications and proven engineering standards to ensure smooth operations.

Minimum Requirements
Before applying, make sure you meet these requirements:
- Education: Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Trade Certification: Valid Section 13 Trade Test or Section 26(D) Certificate.
- Driver’s License: Code B, EB, or C1.
- Transport: Must have your own vehicle to attend call-outs.
- Experience: At least 2 years as a Boilermaker in a Dense Medium Separation (DMS) plant environment.
- Technical Skills:
- CO2 welding.
- Pipe fabrication for any size of pipe.
- General fabrication work.
- Other Requirements:
- Able to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Knowledge of risk assessments and ability to contribute to them.
- Experience with Huckbolting and thread cutting machines is an advantage.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Good time management skills.
What You’ll Do in This Role
As a Minopex Boilermaker, your daily tasks will include:
- Maintenance & Repairs
- Investigate, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment and machinery as per set standards.
- Follow technical and safety guidelines to ensure quality work.
- Daily Inspections
- Conduct equipment checks in line with Mine Health and Safety Act regulations.
- Report all equipment defects and breakdowns to your supervisor.
- Fabrication & Installation
- Develop, modify, and construct different types of trade-related equipment.
- Install equipment that supports safe operations and production.
- Safety & Quality Assurance
- Make sure all completed work leaves equipment in a safe, working condition.
- Monitor and improve equipment performance over time.
- Collaboration with Teams
- Work closely with production teams to coordinate maintenance activities.
- Support operational goals by ensuring maximum machine availability.
- Record-Keeping
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work for planning and asset management purposes.
