Job Purpose
The Enrolled Nurse Assistant will perform nursing duties in line with the South African Nursing Council’s (SANC) scope of practice, while following all facility rules and regulations. You will work as part of a healthcare team to deliver quality care, support doctors, and ensure patients have the best experience possible.
Key Duties
In this role, you will:
- Provide Quality Patient Care
- Offer friendly, professional, and high-quality service at all times.
- Handle patient questions and pass on concerns to senior staff when needed.
- Maintain Nursing Areas
- Keep all workspaces clean, tidy, and well-organized.
- Follow infection control and hygiene rules strictly.
- Work Within Scope
- Carry out only the tasks allowed under your SANC registration.
- Keep up with the latest nursing trends to maintain your skills.
- Patient Safety & Documentation
- Ensure all patient records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Respect patient confidentiality in line with POPIA regulations.
- Waste & Equipment Management
- Dispose of medical waste, human tissue, and unused medicine safely, following legislation.
- Make sure equipment is working and report any faults immediately.
- Stock Control
- Help maintain proper stock levels of medical supplies.
- Customer Service & Complaint Handling
- Make sure patients have a smooth and efficient journey through the facility.
- Assist with complaints and escalate serious issues to a manager.
Minimum Requirements
Before applying, make sure you meet these requirements:
- Education: Matric / NQF Level 4 or equivalent.
- Experience: At least 2 years in a nursing role (3 years preferred).
- Registration: Must be registered with SANC as an Enrolled Nurse Assistant.
- Skills: Computer literacy (MS Office).
- Availability: Willing to work shifts and occasional overtime.
