What Is the Job About?

The Stock Clerk is an important role that helps the store run smoothly. You will work in the Admin team, making sure that all the stock (products in the store) is recorded correctly and is available when customers need it. If there’s a problem with stock levels, you’ll help fix it quickly.

This is not a boring desk job — you’ll be actively involved in the day-to-day operations, checking deliveries, updating systems, and working with other departments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Spot any problems with the Stock Ledger (record of store stock) and fix them quickly.
  • Keep track of stock movement (incoming and outgoing products) and make sure it’s accurate and updated in time.
  • Make sure that Service Department items are recorded on the Blue Cube system.
  • Ensure products are always in stock and available for customers.
  • Help management by doing daily receiving checks to make sure the stock received is correct.

What You Need to Apply

You don’t need a university degree to get this job, but you must have a Matric (National Senior Certificate). If you’ve done any extra courses or training, that’s even better.

Minimum Qualification:

  • National Senior Certificate / Matric

Desirable Extra Training (Not a must but good to have):

  • Admin or Sales Management training
  • Trainee Manager development programme
  • Cost Control diploma

Experience Needed

  • You need 1–2 years of working experience, especially in a retail or furniture store.
  • If you already understand how furniture stores work, you will fit in even faster.
  • Having 6–12 months of retail furniture knowledge will be a big plus.
