About the Role

The Assistant Store Manager acts as the right-hand person to the Store Manager. You’ll be accountable for running the store in their absence and supporting the management of staff, cash, and stock. This is a hands-on role where you’ll combine leadership, organization, and customer service to help the store perform at its best.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily tasks will include:

Banking of money and ensuring cash office controls are accurate.
Relieving the Store Manager and managing the store in their absence.
Maintaining company standards for housekeeping, merchandising, and stock control.
Ensuring discipline and security procedures are followed.
Assisting in staff management, including scheduling and performance tracking.
Overseeing front-end operations to guarantee smooth customer service.
Introducing sales initiatives to help the store meet its targets.
Minimizing stock loss and managing shrinkage.
Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Supporting administrative duties, including reporting and record-keeping.

This role requires you to balance operational tasks with leadership responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.

Who Should Apply

To succeed as an Assistant Store Manager at Power Fashion, you should have:

A Matric / Grade 12 certificate (Mathematics is an advantage) or NQF Level 4.
Previous experience managing people and a department.
Retail experience, particularly in clothing, is highly advantageous.
Strong communication and administrative skills.
The ability to make decisions and take initiative.
Excellent organizational and planning skills to maintain productivity.
Leadership qualities, enthusiasm, and the ability to motivate a team.
