💼 Job Title: Assistant to Buyer

As an Assistant to Buyer, you will play a key role in helping our buyers source and procure the latest footwear, clothing, handbags, and perfumes for Rage’s 650+ stores across South Africa. This position is perfect for someone who loves fashion, enjoys working with data, and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.

📌 What Will You Be Doing?

Your role will involve both strategy and hands-on tasks, ensuring that we stay ahead of fashion trends and deliver top-quality products at competitive prices.

Your Daily Responsibilities Include:

✔️ Researching trends & competitor pricing to keep Rage ahead in the fashion industry.
✔️ Negotiating prices with suppliers to ensure we get the best deals.
✔️ Handling procurement – requesting samples and coordinating couriers with selected suppliers.
✔️ Sourcing new suppliers and maintaining strong relationships with existing ones.
✔️ Processing orders & tracking deliveries to ensure everything arrives on time.
✔️ Managing sample development & fittings to ensure product quality.
✔️ Keeping accurate records of supplier data, orders, and product information.
✔️ Assisting with advertising layouts & marketing materials for publication.
✔️ General administrative tasks to support the buying team.
✔️ Identifying market trends and adjusting orders to meet customer demand.

✅ Who Can Apply?

To be considered for this role, you need to have:

✔️ A Fashion-Related Degree – Knowledge of trends and retail buying is a must!
✔️ Strong Computer Skills – Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
✔️ Excellent Communication Skills – Both verbal and written.
✔️ A Confident & Persistent Attitude – Great negotiation skills will set you apart.
✔️ Good Numeracy Skills – You should be comfortable with numbers and pricing.
