As a General Clerk at Russells, your main job is to support store operations, ensure customer satisfaction, and help drive sales. You’ll also be responsible for handling stock, cash, and compliance duties.
✅ Stock Control – Keep track of stock levels and maintain company assets
✅ Cash & Credit Handling – Process transactions following company policies
✅ Sales Activities – Assist customers and drive in-store sales
✅ Customer Service – Help customers in a friendly and professional manner
✅ Teamwork & Self-Management – Work well with others and manage your time efficiently
✅ Branch Manager Support – Act as a relief manager when the Branch Manager is on leave
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved in multiple aspects of store management!
To qualify, you must meet the following requirements:
✅ Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
✅ 1-2 years of retail experience
✅ Strong store administration skills
✅ Knowledge of merchandising standards
✅ Experience with customer complaints management
✅ Professional telephone etiquette
✅ Basic selling skills
✅ Understanding of risk management and business acumen
✅ MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook)
✅ Knowledge of relevant retail legislation (NCA, CPA, OHASA)
✅ Good verbal and written communication skills
