What Is the Role All About?
As a Call Centre Agent at Santam Travel Insurance, you’ll be handling calls from clients and intermediaries. You’ll provide them with accurate information, guide them through products and benefits, and process important documents. Whether you’re helping someone understand their travel insurance policy or solving a query, you’ll play a key role in keeping customers happy and informed.
You’ll work in an inbound call centre, which means customers will be calling you – not the other way around (unless needed). It’s fast-paced, exciting, and deeply rewarding for the right kind of person.
✅ Key Responsibilities: What You’ll Be Doing
- 📞 Handling Calls: Take calls from clients or meet them face-to-face when needed
- 📚 Know the Products: Stay up-to-date on travel insurance offerings and what they include
- 📑 Process Documents: Handle things like policies, endorsements, quotes, and support papers
- 🧾 Customer Service: Give clear, helpful info about products, staying within the FAIS Act guidelines
- 💬 Resolve Issues: Manage both written and verbal queries professionally
- 📠 Assist the Team: Help out management or the sales team when needed with admin or support tasks
- 💡 Stay Sharp: Make sure every customer interaction is positive, clear, and professional
🎓 What You Need to Apply
📍 Minimum Requirements:
- Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent
- At least 3 years’ experience in a Call Centre environment
- FAIS Accreditation and RE1 (if you’ve worked in financial services before)
🛠️ Helpful Skills:
- Strong command of English (spoken and written)
- Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Good with people – patient, polite, and clear
- Excellent listening and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working under pressure and multitasking
- Previous outbound call experience is a plus
