📦 What Exactly Is a Spares Clerk?

A Spares Clerk is someone who helps manage the small but important parts that keep appliances running. At Defy, you’ll be responsible for making sure all parts are properly checked, stored in the right place, and picked/packed correctly when orders come in. You’ll also handle paperwork, keep stock accurate, and talk to suppliers and branches when needed.

Basically, you’re the behind-the-scenes superhero that keeps everything moving!

✅ What You’ll Be Doing Every Day

Here’s a breakdown of your day-to-day responsibilities:

• 📥 Receiving & Checking: When new spares arrive, you’ll inspect them to make sure they’re in great shape and count them properly.
• 📦 Packing & Storing: You’ll store spares in the correct bin locations and pack them safely for delivery.
• 🚚 Dispatching: You’ll prepare and send out spares to different branches, contractors, or sales orders, based on picking lists.
• 📊 Stock Control: Daily and monthly stock counts are part of your job. You’ll make sure records match real stock levels.
• 🧾 System Updates: Enter every spare part received or sent out into the company’s system to keep everything updated.
• 📞 Customer & Supplier Support: Handle queries from suppliers or internal branches and assist technicians with finding the right part numbers.
• 🧹 Warehouse Tidiness: Keeping your area clean and organized is a must!
• 🛠️ General Admin Tasks: Complete and file records like delivery notes, waybills, and more.

🎯 What You Need to Apply

To be considered for this awesome opportunity, make sure you meet the following:

Minimum Requirements:

• ✅ Grade 12 / Matric certificate
• ✅ At least some experience working in a warehouse, parts department, or similar environment
• ✅ Good with numbers and basic math
• ✅ Clear communicator with strong computer skills – especially in SAP, WMS, and Microsoft Office
• ✅ Able to keep things organized and work under pressure

Bonus Skills (Not Required But Great to Have):

• 🔧 Valid licenses for forklift, reach truck, or order picker
• 🏋️‍♂️ Able to lift and carry boxes safely
• 🧠 Fast learner and team player
