This is not just a basic admin job. It is a high-responsibility role where you will work closely with management, handle important tasks, and help keep the department running smoothly every day.


What This Job Is About

As a Personal Assistant (PA), your main job is to support the Head of the Department with daily administrative, organisational, and communication tasks. You will be the person who keeps everything in order behind the scenes.

You will manage schedules, organise meetings, handle emails and calls, and make sure that important information flows properly within the department.

This role is ideal for someone who is organised, professional, and able to handle pressure.


Where You Will Work

The position is based at Table Mountain National Park, one of the most beautiful and well-known parks in South Africa. Even though it’s an office role, being part of this environment can make your work experience more exciting and meaningful.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

Your daily tasks will include a mix of admin, communication, and coordination work. Here’s what you can expect:

Office and Administrative Support

  • Manage the manager’s diary, schedule meetings, and organise appointments
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and official documents
  • Handle emails, calls, and messages professionally
  • Organise travel, accommodation, and transport for management
  • Maintain filing systems and databases

Communication and Coordination

  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors and callers
  • Work with different teams and departments
  • Manage the flow of information within the department
  • Ensure all communication follows company policies and standards

Meetings and Events

  • Organise meetings, events, and conferences
  • Prepare meeting documents and take minutes
  • Remind management of important deadlines and tasks

Financial and Records Support

  • Track department spending and help manage the budget
  • Assist with expense reports and financial records
  • Ensure all records are stored properly and follow system rules

Minimum Requirements

To apply for this position, you must have:

  • A National Diploma (NQF 6) in Office Management, Administration, or Secretarial studies
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working as a Personal Assistant at management level
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office and similar tools)
  • A valid driver’s licence and ability to drive
  • Good communication skills (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge of the conservation or tourism industry (this is an advantage)

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Basic financial understanding
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from:

R369,915 to R517,860 per year (Cost to Company package)

This is a good salary, especially for someone with the right qualifications and experience. However, you will need to arrange your own accommodation, as it is not provided by SANParks.
