SANRAL Is Looking for 9 Super Friendly Receptionists – Could This Be You?

What’s the Job All About?

As a Receptionist at SANRAL, you’ll be the first person visitors and callers meet when they reach out to the company. You’ll be in charge of making sure everyone feels welcome, whether they’re walking into the office or calling on the phone. Your main job is to keep things running smoothly at the front desk, answer questions, and help both staff and visitors get what they need. You’ll also be managing the switchboard, handling calls, and making sure the reception area is always neat and tidy.


What Skills Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, you need to have finished Grade 12. If you’ve done any extra courses after school, that’s a bonus! You should also have at least three years of experience working as a receptionist or managing a switchboard. Being good with computers is a must – you’ll need to know how to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. If you’re comfortable with office machines like printers and copiers, that’s even better.


What Will You Be Doing Every Day?

Your day will be busy, but never boring! Here’s what you can expect:

  • Greeting visitors and finding out why they’re there, then showing them where to go.
  • Letting staff know when someone important has arrived.
  • Working with security to make sure everyone follows the rules, like signing the visitors’ logbook and getting visitor badges.
  • Keeping an eye out for anything unusual and reporting it if needed.
  • Making sure the reception area looks clean and professional, with all the supplies you need.
  • Helping people with questions, whether they’re staff or visitors.
  • Handling mail and parcels, and keeping a record of everything that comes in.
  • Organizing refreshments for guests when meetings are happening.
  • Showing guests to meeting rooms and making sure they’re comfortable.
  • Answering phone calls, finding out what people need, and putting them through to the right person.
  • Taking messages and making sure they get to the right person, whether it’s by email or on paper.
  • Keeping the office diary up to date with all the meeting bookings.
  • Helping with general office tasks when needed, like travel arrangements or organizing meetings.
  • Making sure the office has enough stationery and supplies.
  • Helping with emergency procedures if something unexpected happens.

What Makes a Great Receptionist?

SANRAL is looking for someone who is friendly, organized, and good at talking to people. You should be able to work well with others, stay calm under pressure, and keep things running smoothly even when things get busy. Good communication skills are important, especially when you’re on the phone or dealing with visitors. Being able to manage your time and stay on top of your tasks is also key.
