Here’s What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior Grant Administrator, you’ll take on a leadership role in making sure grant applications are properly handled. Your tasks will include:

Verifying grant applications to ensure accuracy and eligibility
Approving or rejecting grant applications based on set guidelines
Overseeing the entire grants value chain to make sure all policies and processes are followed
Advising and mentoring junior Grant Administrators
Managing the performance and output of your local office team
Checking all supporting documents are present and valid
Ensuring all decisions comply with relevant social assistance laws and public finance rules
Making sure the office runs smoothly, efficiently, and fairly

This is a leadership and supervisory position, so you’ll need to be comfortable guiding a team, making important decisions, and handling sensitive information with professionalism and care.

Do You Meet the Requirements?

Before applying, make sure you meet the minimum qualifications:

Senior Certificate (Matric)
Undergraduate Qualification (NQF Level 6) in a relevant field as recognized by SAQA
At least 3 years of experience in Grants Administration
Must be computer literate
Must have a valid driver’s license

Technical Competencies You’ll Need

This job requires someone with solid knowledge in:

Social Assistance Grant application procedures
South African social grant policies and processes (full grants value chain)
Legal requirements, including Section 57 of the PFMA (Public Finance Management Act)
Administrative skills, accuracy, and ethical decision-making

You must be able to lead with integrity, understand the regulations, and ensure your team delivers services fairly and quickly.
