About the Position

The General Worker will help with a variety of duties to keep the silo running efficiently and safely. You’ll be part of a team that ensures the yard, bins, bunkers, and silos are well-maintained and kept clean. The work involves assisting with grain handling, pest control, and general maintenance tasks around the site.

Key Responsibilities

As a General Worker at Senwes Grainlink, your main duties will include:

  • Carrying out general cleaning of the yard, bins, containers, silos, buildings, and bunkers to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Performing contact spraying for pest control in bins, machines, and buildings.
  • Assisting with bin and storage fumigation when necessary.
  • Handling bagging, storage, and monitoring of graded screenings.
  • Helping with loading and off-loading grain, both in bulk and in bags.
  • Assisting the team with maintenance and repair work as required.

Every day will bring something different, and your contribution will be vital in keeping the operation running smoothly.

What You’ll Need to Qualify

Senwes Grainlink welcomes candidates who are ready to work hard and learn on the job. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Grade 10 qualification (candidates with a National Senior Certificate will be given preference)
  • No experience required – full training will be provided
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic understanding of the grain industry (advantageous)
  • A positive attitude and willingness to take direction
